The following is a list of what is included in the item above. Click the test(s) below to view what biomarkers are measured along with an explanation of what the biomarker is measuring.
Also known as: ANA, ANA Screen IFA with Reflex to Titer and Pattern IFA, ANA with Reflux
Also known as: CBC, CBC includes Differential and Platelets, CBC/PLT w/DIFF, Complete Blood Count (includes Differential and Platelets)
NOTE: Ulta Lab Tests provides CBC test results from Quest Diagnostics as they are reported. Often, different biomarker results are made available at different time intervals. When reporting the results, Ulta Lab Tests denotes those biomarkers not yet reported as 'pending' for every biomarker the test might report. Only biomarkers Quest Diagnostics observes are incorporated and represented in the final CBC test results provided by Ulta Lab Tests.

Inflammatory Panel Test Description
The Inflammatory Panel is a comprehensive set of laboratory tests designed to detect and monitor inflammation and its potential causes within the body. It encompasses tests to both identify the presence of inflammation and determine underlying triggers or associated conditions. Here's a description of each test and its relevance:
ANA Screen, IFA with Reflex to Titer and Pattern, IFA: This test screens for antinuclear antibodies (ANAs), which are autoantibodies produced by the immune system that mistakenly target substances found in the nucleus of a cell. It's useful in diagnosing autoimmune disorders like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, where inflammation plays a crucial role.
CBC (includes Differential and Platelets): This complete blood count measures various components of the blood. An elevated white blood cell count can indicate inflammation, infection, or other conditions. Platelets play a role in clotting and can be affected by inflammatory diseases.
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): This panel measures blood sugar, proteins, electrolytes, and enzymes, which can provide insights into how the body's organs, like the kidneys and liver, are functioning. Some of these markers can change in the presence of inflammation.
DHEA Sulfate, Immunoassay: DHEA is a hormone that's involved in the immune function. Altered levels can indicate stress, inflammation, or other conditions.
Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) Antibody Panel: Chronic or recent infections with EBV can lead to prolonged inflammation in certain individuals.
Estrogen, Total, Serum: Estrogen can modulate the inflammatory response. Abnormal levels might be related to inflammatory conditions.
FSH and LH: Both hormones regulate the reproductive system and can be affected by or have an effect on inflammation, especially in conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Homocysteine: Elevated levels of this amino acid can be a risk factor for heart disease and may be linked to inflammation.
hs-CRP: High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is a marker of inflammation. It's often used to assess the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Insulin: Disruptions in insulin levels and resistance can be both a cause and a consequence of systemic inflammation.
Interleukin-6, Highly Sensitive, ELISA: Interleukin-6 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine. Elevated levels can indicate inflammation and are observed in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.
Lipid Panel: This panel measures cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Elevated levels can indicate an increased risk of atherosclerosis, in which inflammation plays a significant role.
Omega-3 and -6 Fatty Acids, Plasma: These fatty acids play roles in inflammation, with omega-3s typically being anti-inflammatory and omega-6s being pro-inflammatory when consumed in excess.
The Inflammatory Panel is a multi-faceted approach to detect and monitor inflammation. It offers insights into potential underlying causes or triggers, guiding clinicians toward an accurate diagnosis and effective management strategy.
