Clinical Significance

Antidiuretic Hormone (also called ADH or Vasopressin) regulates water reabsorption in the kidney, reducing diuresis and increasing blood volume and pressure. The syndrome of inappropriate release of ADH (SIADH) occurs with neoplasia, pulmonary disorders (e.g., pneumonia and tuberculosis), CNS disorders, and with specific drugs.
